Pi Day is Coming! Friday, March 14, 2022

Every March 14, mathematicians around the world celebrate Pi Day. (3.14 being the first three digits of the mathematical constant “Pi.”) Students at Los Alamos Middle School will join in the celebration on Monday, March 14th.

We are recruiting volunteers to come to LAMS on 3/14 to help with Pi Day.

  • All we ask for is two hours of your time!
  • No special knowledge is required. We will provide all the materials and training you need to help run an activity table for a few students. Each student will visit the gym during their school day and rotate through stations with pi-rate themed math activities.
  • We also need photographers to capture the fun!
  • We have structured the day into three two-hour time slots starting at 8:00am, 9:45am and 12:15pm. We also have a sign-up slot for volunteers available at alternate times. Volunteers are also needed to help set up on Friday (3/11) and clean up when Pi Day ends at 2:00pm.
